The legend of the Pelada de La Cañada originated in Córdoba, Argentina over 100 years ago. The legend states that a sex worker in the the red light area of the city known as "The Five Corners" was raped and murdered by several men, who then cut all her hair off and threw her body in the Cañada.
Now her phantom cannot leave the place of its sorrow. Appearing as a bald woman, it lurks in the shadows, screaming its hate into the faces of any who approach. It is also said to be bad luck to hear the clicks of her high heels echoing through the night streets.

Wow... This is a veritable Who's Who of Aural Films' heavy hitters. Wonderful concept, though at more than FIVE HOURS long it seems a bit unwieldy. For a timeless milestone on this theme (often used in circle dancing), check out Irene Papas & Vangelis's ODES (1979), the final track, "Menoussis." Paul Asbury Seaman
